AN IRISH-TOUCHED LOVE STORY IN THE HEART OF THE COTSWOLDS
The Cotswolds has this incredible charm that never gets old but somehow every time I’m there it feels brand new. Ivy Lodge sits right in the middle of it all. Rolling countryside, soft golden light, and that peaceful atmosphere that instantly slows everything down. It’s the kind of place that feels made for a wedding, especially one as heartfelt as Colin & Thevya’s.
Bridal prep set the tone for the whole day. It was calm but full of excitement in the best way, everyone laughing, hair and makeup in full swing, surrounded by family and friends. Nothing rushed, nothing forced. Just a bride getting ready to marry the love of her life.
Thevya arriving in a vintage Volkswagen van. Such a standout entrance. The ceremony that followed was deeply intimate and beautifully traditional, an Irish Catholic ceremony full of meaningful touches and family history woven through it. There were teary smiles, whispered laughs, and so much emotion in the room. It was a privilege to witness.
Afterwards, everyone spilled into the reception, drinks flowing, canapés disappearing fast, and live music setting the best atmosphere. With November light fading quickly, I took Colin & Thevya for a short portrait session. Just the two of them enjoying a quiet moment together in the grounds of Ivy Lodge, wrapped up in all the excitement of the day. It was relaxed, natural, and real. Something very special.
The evening rolled into cake cutting, the wedding breakfast, speeches, and the speeches were beautiful. Full of love, genuine emotion, and so much appreciation for Colin & Thevya. You could feel how much they mean to the people around them, and the whole room was completely with them in that moment.
Then came the moment everyone had been waiting for, a champagne tower to kick off the night. Fun, bold, and totally unforgettable. The cheers said it all. Right after that, they went straight into their first dance with an Irish twist, and from there… the dance floor absolutely erupted. Shoes came off, ties loosened, the saxophone lit the room up, and the energy didn’t dip for a single second. It was one of those parties where nobody wanted the night to end and honestly, neither did I.
